A 4 week course for those who would like to learn to make their own clothes, or wishing to continue from the Absolute Beginner course . Bring the fabric and a pattern of your choice and over 4weeks we will work through all the processes to complete your item.
The course is tailored so you can work at your own pace & level. Maybe you want to tackle your 1st top & learn how to sew darts & insert sleeves, or perhaps you’d like to make your 1st pair of trousers/pants with pockets, or perhaps an A-line skirt with a zip or a loose fitting top, tunic or dress. The choice is yours, however, depending on your skills & confidence, as a relative novice I would recommend that you focus on sewing techniques, rather than fit at this stage, so perhaps stick with something which is looser fitting.
I have access to lots of patterns in the studio & can advise you of what to sew & what fabric to bring before the class starts. Here’s the links to some of the projects that I suggest, pictured below or feel free to bring in your own patterns too. Cass wide legged culottes from Fabrics Store. Libby A-Line Skirt from Tesutti Patterns. Simple Pleated Skirt from Sew Easy, Georgia Dress from Elizabeth Suzann Chelseas Raglan Tee from Fabrics Store.
