Join us for regular sewing classes designed for sewists of all abilities. A chance to make new friends & improve your sewing skills with the help of a sewing teacher to progress through different projects.
This workshop is perfect for anyone who wants to challenge themselves with a new skill or technique, maybe you haven't sewn for a long time & want to meet regularly with like minded people.
The lessons are free-style with everyone making something different, so you can sew whatever you like, at your own pace, with guidance from me when you need it.
Here are some of the things you may need help with, depending on your patterns.
Reading & understanding a pattern, different tracing techniques & sizing.
Fitting & grading between sizes
Inserting Zips, buttons & buttonholes
Darts, tucks, pleats & gathers
What to bring
Your pattern, fabric, thread & any other haberdashery required for the pattern you're working on (this includes but is not exhaustive: interfacing, zips & buttons).
You are also welcome to bring your own sewing kit & sewing machine too, if you prefer, but I have all the sewing equipment that you will need to complete a project, including machines, overlockers, irons & other tools.
It's my intention to run these classes regularly, so if you would like to book a block of 4 classes at a time, contact me directly samstitchmakecreate@gmail.com for a discount.
SKILL LEVEL
Next stage beginner, intermediate & advanced - you must have used a sewing machine before & be able to thread up & operate it independently. See my beginners workshops for more information.
Please Note
The studio is accessed via stairs & the toilets are downstairs. There is ample free parking outside the studio. Refreshments are available for a nominal cost.
Refund Policy
Payment in full is required at the time of booking to secure your place. Unfortunately, I cannot offer refunds for cancellations with less than 1 weeks notice but you can transfer onto one of the following weeks if there is space for you.
